This is a 2-session event. Participants must attend both sessions. Completion of the sessions will prepare participants for CANS certification.

This is a 2-session event.  Participants must attend both sessions. Completion of the sessions will prepare participants for CANS certification.  

Session 1: Orientation

Explore principles and best practices in using the CANS as an assessment strategy, communication framework, mechanism for monitoring outcomes, and tool for informing plans of care.

Session 2: Domains and Indicators

Receive orientation to the domains and indicators of the CANS.  Includes exploration and discussion of a CANS vignette and consensus-based practice exercise that allows participants to collaboratively rate an individual.

Attendance Certificate Hours

This event offers Attendance Certificate Hours which may count toward initial and ongoing training requirements for programs such as Comprehensive Community Services (CCS).

This event has not been pre-approved to count toward specific licensure CEU requirements, however, hours may count toward 15 of the 30 required continuing education credit hours for LCSW, LPC, and MFT licensure that may be met through "in-house training and development programs". Please check with your particular licensing requirements for more information.

Intended Audience

This workshop is intended for care coordinators and service facilitators who utilize the CANS as part of the CST or CCS assessment process.  

Participation Expectation

This workshop is interactive. Active participation for the duration of the workshop is expected.
